Dinner tonight

Jen and I had dinner tonight (during a weekday—how novel) at a local restaurant called Positano Restaurante Pizzeria. Great food. Jen had the pasta special, I had the veal chop.

About 1 year ago, I would have never considered eating veal. Since high school environmental studies, I’ve avoided eating it based on an ethical decision. Veal is made out of baby cows. It is very tender because the calves are boxed in a cage and not allowed to move. They are forced fed. With no exercise you get well marbled meat.

My descent into veal-eating was accidental. At work, I had ordered a chicken sandwich, but they gave me veal instead. I didn’t notice it until I bit into it.

Damn. It was good.

Part of me was like, “You know Tai, this is really disgusting.” The other half of me was like, “Damn yo! This is what I’ve been missing all this time? Shite.”

So I caved in. Still I’m torn.

We had wanted to go to Penrose Fish & Chips (a local landmark, it’s been there since 1950), but they close at 7:00pm. They apparently have one of the best Fish and Chips in the city.

Apple Store Toronto Eaton Centre

Jen is supporting me in my attempt to be one of the 1st 1000 people to enter the Apple Store on Opening day (this Saturday at 9:30 am). She is going to buy shoes while I wait in line.

Anyone else in? I’ll bring a camera and upload pics of all the excitement.
