From the “Older and Wiser” dept.
Hey all,
My Birthday passed last Saturday.
Jen arranged dinner at Medieval Times, Toronto.
I had a good time. I’ve been an Dungeons & Dragons nut for a while (although I don’t actively play anymore, I do own a set of there 3rd Edition Rules—just to read—No really, just to read), so anything that has to do with knights and swords really turns my crank.
Over all I was impressed with the show. It’s akin to watching Pro Wrestling with swords and horses. Kind of hokey, but if you go with the right people….
The meal was mediocre at best:
- Vegetable soup
- Garlic Bread
- Roasted Potatos
- Half a roasted Chicken
- One large Rib
- Pepsi to Drink
- Apple pastry for Desert
The serving was huge though.
Our knight, the blue knight, was a jobber. He died in the second round of the games.
One interesting question did arise though:
If the goal was to choose your “champion” Knight from the six most bravest and loyal knights you have, does it make sense for them to battle-to-the-death? Poor HR Management in my opinion.
After dinner we went out to the Bier Market. The music was good, the mix was good, a lot of people showed up and I got to spend some time with each of them.
All-in-all, it was a good time, and I couldn’t have spent it with better people.
