RIP! A remix manifesto

RiP: A remix manifesto is an open source documentary about copyright and remix culture. Created over a period of six years, the film features the collaborative remix work of hundreds of people who have contributed to this project, helping to create the world’s first open source documentary.

I’ve been tracking this movie for several years. You can go to the site and remix any of the footage. It’s finally getting its premiere.

I can’t wait to see it.

This is one of the things that frustrates me about Canada; as a culture we seem to be very laid-back in remixing footage and such. Where are the political mashups? Where is the user commentary? We just had an election here and I didn’t really see much user-created content—perhaps it didn’t register on my radar.
