Ballet and Boygroove: Two recommended shows.

This weekend, Jen and I saw Romeo and Juliet, staged by the National Ballet of Canada.

It was a delightful show. Amazingly, I didn’t fall asleep. Seriously.

I can think of several reasons:

  1. The music is memorable. I would be surprised if you didn’t recognize some of the music.
  2. The story is familiar with everyone. If you are familiar with book (Gutenberg Project link). I remember many of the scenes from Grade 10 English class (Ironically, I played Romeo during the class read-alongs—embarrassing).
  3. Guillaume Côté and Heather Ogden are a HOT couple.

It was a good time. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Boygroove.

I saw Boygroove at the Toronto Fringe Festival last year. Right now they are playing at the Diesel Theatre in Downtown Toronto. After the Birthday Brunch at Marché a bunch of us saw the matinée show. It was great.

How great? 4 out of 4-stars from the Toronto Star great. Read about it yourself at their site: Boygroove.ca

I’m glad everyone else liked it. It’s been a while since I laughed so hard.
