Weekend Review

Baseball

I saw a great basebal game at the Rogers Centre (formerly known as the Skydome). It was the Boston Red Sox versus the Toronto Blue Jays. Great game, and Toronto won 6-7 in the bottom of the 12 inning. To top it off, we crushed the Sox 1-8 on Saturday’s game.

Watching that game made me realise how much I still admire the sport. If there was one sport that is synonomous with my childhood, it is definitely baseball. That was what all the kids in my neighborhood played. Every summer the kids would play pick up 3-pitch at the local park. It was pretty awesome.

Now the baseball diamond near my parents’ house stands pretty much unused. Most kids play soccer or basketball now.

Accupuncture

That stuff really works. It definitely makes me feel different. I feel very cold after the needles have been removed. Doctor Shyu says it’s because my meridians are redirecting the energy, this is why he says never to drink cold-liquids after accupuncture, it will undo all the work.

Do I feel different? I think so. I definitely don’t need to drink as much coffee anymore.

He says he can treat allergies. That will be the benchmark for me in September.

Rakesh’s farewell party

In a random encouter with Mike and Siu, I found out that my old elementary school buddy, Ricky, has accepted a 1 1/2 year placement with his firm overseeing the Canadian division in the Philippines.

Damn!

Him in and wife Sujita (I’m sure I’ve justed masasacred that name) will be living in Manilla in a 2000 sq. ft. corporate apartment. Maid service 5-days a week, and breakfast on the roof-top every morning. Sweet.

So after dinner at my parents’ house, Jen and I attended a party at Rick and Sujita’s condo (not to far form Kevin’s place

It was great to sit back and chat with him again. The last time I saw him was in 2001. We barely recognized each other; he and I have both gained weight. LOL. It’s nice to know that I’m not the only one.

The night was much longer than I expected, Mike and Siu were there, as well as Castor, and Ed Kim. Crazy. Like a reunion of sorts.

After a very long good-bye, Jen and I went to the Shallow groove lounge to wish my Friend Janice a Happy Birthday. The place was packed, not so fun. We left soon after.

Imprints’ site version 2

It’s nice to know that version 2 of the imprints site is well underway. I wish that my desktop was up and running, it would smoke both my Mac and my PC laptop in developing the site.
