Linux Desktop; Almost there.

I installed Xandros Linux 2.0 Desktop on my dual processor workstation.

You heard it here first: The year of the Linux Desktop will be in 2005.

It’s almost ready for primetime. Will it ever replace Windows? No, not in North America or Europe—Linux’s impact will be in the developing nations.

I must say I’m quite impressed. It’s about as usable as Windows98SE. You can even install OfficeXP if you want, inlieu of Open Office 1.1. A nice tight package. I’ll use it for a bit and see how things work out.

It definitely won’t replace Mac OS 10.3 though. 😛
